Editor’s note: Comprised of teams from Central California Athletic League, Central California Conference, Valley Oak League, Western Athletic Conference. Records as of Monday, March 24.

1. (2) Buhach Colony (6-1) — The Thunder move into the large-school penthouse after throttling Patterson 15-2 and 13-1 in a pair of Central California Conference games, coupled with Turlock second consecutive one-run defeat.

2. (1)Turlock (4-4) — The Bulldogs lost to Oakdale 6-5, making it the second consecutive one-run setback to a non-conference opponent.

3. (3) Los Banos (7-1) — Defeated then-No. 5 Beyer — the defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division III champion, by the way — 11-1 in the Western Athletic Conference opener.

4. (nr) Oakdale (6-3) — The Mustangs knocked off Turlock and move into the rankings for the first time this season. On Wednesday, they’ll take on an 8-3 East Union team that is knocking on the door of the large-school rankings.

5. (4) Sierra (8-2-1) — Picked up a pair of non-conference wins against Modesto and Spanish Springs, but dropped a game to a rebuilding Downey club. That’s enough to drop the Timberwolves one spot in the rankings.
