RIPON -- The Ripon High football team finished fast in a 41-7 victory over Foothill on Friday evening, setting up an intra-regional showdown with Amador next week in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs.

Aaron Wood led the scoring barrage with two rushing touchdowns and kicker Nate Valdez had field goals of 40 and 33 yards and five point-after kicks, setting up a meeting of champions in next week's semifinal round. The Indians (10-1) were a co-champion in the Trans-Valley League, while Amador (10-1) earned a share of the Mother Lode League.

Trailing 7-3 in the fourth quarter, the Buffaloes kept their dream season alive with 14 unanswered points in the final minutes.
